Efficiency Maine offers a rebate of 1/3 of the total project cost up to $5,000 for ultra-low greenhouse gas emitting automated wood pellet boiler systems, like the Kedel wood pellet boiler from Denmark. Read on for an overview of the wood pellet boiler rebate, how to apply for it and what you need to know to move forward with your new sustainable heating system.*
*All rebates described below are reviewed, approved or denied, and paid out by the Efficiency Maine Trust. True North is providing the below overview as an introduction only; Efficiency Maine’s policies, procedures and available rebates are subject to change at any time, without notice. Complete information can be found at www.efficiencymaine.com.
In general, to qualify for the wood pellet boiler incentive from Efficiency Maine, the system must be installed in a 1-4 unit residential home that serves as a primary residence, and must have enough pellet storage to run continuously for two weeks without having to refill the pellet hopper, OR have a backup system in place in case the wood pellet fuel runs out. All work must be done by a registered Efficiency Maine residential vendor, with a qualifying automated wood pellet boiler system.
True North is a Qualified Residential Vendor Partner of Efficiency Maine, and offers only pellet boiler systems that comply with Efficiency Maine’s qualification standards.
If you received any rebates from Efficiency Maine through the Home Energy Savings Plan (HESP) offered from 2010 through 2011, you will not be able to claim rebates for projects on the same residence through the current HESP.
If you have received HESP rebates for this residence after September of 2013, you will be eligible to receive a partial rebate on your wood pellet boiler project, up to $5,000 including the amount of the prior rebates.
Other restrictions may apply.
For complete detailed information about rebate eligibility, read the HESP Pellet Boiler Eligibility Criteria and List of Eligible Models.
In addition, please read the HESP Rebate Claim form.
For complete details of the Home Energy Savings Program, please read the HESP Program Manual.
