Heat Pump Rebate from Efficiency Maine

mitsubishi heat pump in kitchen

A Mitsubishi heat pump installed in your Maine kitchen can keep you cool when the sun is at its peak and warm in the winter months.

Efficiency Maine offers a rebate of $500 for qualifying air source mini split ductless heat pumps.  True North offers many models of heat pumps that qualify for this rebate from Mitsubishi and Fujitsu.  The $500 rebate is a one-time incentive that applies to the complete project, and is not applied per heat pump installed.  Read on for an overview of the heat pump rebate, how to apply for it and what you need to know to move forward with your new sustainable heating system.*

*All rebates described below are reviewed, approved or denied, and paid out by the Efficiency Maine Trust.  True North is providing the below overview as an introduction only; Efficiency Maine’s policies, procedures and available rebates are subject to change at any time, without notice. Complete information can be found at www.efficiencymaine.com.

In general, to qualify for the heat pump incentive from Efficiency Maine, the heat pump or heat pumps must be installed in a 1-4 unit residential home that serves as a primary residence, and must have a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) as follows:

Single Head Systems: HSPF greater than or equal to 12.0

Multi Head Systems: HSPF greater than or equal to 10.0

All work must be done by a registered Efficiency Maine residential vendor, with appliances that have qualifying HSPF ratings.  True North is a Qualified Residential Vendor Partner of Efficiency Maine and takes into account HSPF ratings when choosing appliances to qualify for rebates.

If you received any rebates from Efficiency Maine through the Home Energy Savings Plan (HESP) offered from 2010 through 2011, you will not be able to claim rebates for projects on the same residence through the current HESP.

The minimum total project cost to qualify for the heat pump rebate is $1,500 before rebates.

Other restrictions may apply.

For complete detailed information about rebate eligibility, read the HESP Heat Pump Eligibility Criteria and List of Eligible Models.

In addition, please read the HESP Rebate Claim form.

For complete details of the Home Energy Savings Program, please read the HESP Program Manual.
