How it Works

Before we dispatch service we will take your credit card.  At the point we take your credit card number, we will get your approval for a minimum expected cost of the visit.  Any additional charges will be discussed with the technician.  For example, if we dispatch emergency service, we will have authorization to bill your card for the first hour rate of $125.  If the technician can’t fix it in the first hour, we will have a conversation about your options, and what the costs are.  We may provide an estimate of our best guess for what it will cost to fix your system.

Just like the mechanic fixing your car, we don’t always know exactly what it will take to get you back on the road again.  We will be happy to check in if our billing goes above our estimate before we proceed.

Service Billing Rates

True North Energy Services makes every attempt to be transparent and clear when performing service on your mechanical equipment.  We want you to know what you’re getting when our technicians come out, and what it will cost when we’re done.  No one likes to pay for repairs when things break!  We want to make the experience as simple as possible.


All of our service rates apply to locations within our standard service territory.  Core towns within our standard service territory include Portland, Westbrook, Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth, Falmouth, Gorham, Windham, Cumberland, Yarmouth, Saco, Biddeford, Buxton, Old Orchard Beach, Freeport and Topsham. True North will travel outside of our normal territory; however, towns outside our territory may incur additional travel charges.

Emergency Non-scheduled Service.  Within an hour we will either have fixed your problem, or we will have an estimate for how much it will cost to fix your problem.  The first hour is the cost to get a trained technician to your door to repair and diagnose.

Scheduled Service Work.  It’s much easier on our business to perform scheduled service than non-scheduled service.  The following rates apply to scheduled service work.
